Battlefield 1 SP Pigeon Mission

No spoilers here, but WTF was the point of the “flight of the pigeon” in the early stages of the Battlefield 1 Single player game? Seemed so odd and out of place.

There was a pigeon who received medals in world war 1, the pigeon got shot twice but was still able to get it’s destination and saved a few soldiers, Jackfrags covers it in a video which is here:

Thanks for sharing, however I still think it is a little out of place. I get that pigeons were used, but the way it is presented in the game is strange.
